SmartyPants Adult/Kids Fiber contains all of the same vitamins and omega 3 fish oil as our original Adult/Kids Complete formulas. The only difference is that you get soluble fiber (up to 6g for adults and 4g for kids) as well! If you or your kids take our Adult/Kids Fiber products, there’s no need to also take our Adult/Kids Complete products.

Our Fiber formulas also has less sugar than our original Complete formulas. Our Fiber formulas have 3g and 2g of sugar for Adult and Kids respectively. Our original Complete formulas have 8g and 5g of sugar for Adult and Kids respectively. Our Adult/Kids Complete and Fiber formulas can act as a complete substitute our Adult/Kids Complete formula – if you want less sugar and some extra fiber into your diet.

Why Is Fiber Important?

Fiber promotes regularity and increases the presence of beneficial bacteria in the gut. Soluble fiber also creates a sense of fullness, allowing you to feel satisfied on less food. Sadly, one of the biggest deficiencies in our diet is fiber. While the FDA recommends adults take 20-38 grams of fiber per day (depending on age and gender) most of us consume around half of that. That is why we included soluble fiber in our SmartyPants Complete and Fiber — to help close this nutrition gap and to help bring these many benefits to our customers.

Should I Ease into Taking Adult/Kids Fiber?

If you don’t have a lot of fiber in your diet already, we recommend starting off with 3 gummies daily for the first week and then 6 gummies daily thereafter. For kids, 2 gummies for the first week and then 4 gummies daily thereafter.

What’s the Source of Your Fiber?

The soluble fiber in our Adult and Kids Complete and Fiber comes from inulin syrup, a natural component of chicory root.

What is Inulin?

Inulin is a polysaccharide (a carbohydrate like starch and cellulose that consistent of bonded sugar molecules) produced by many plants, most notable root vegetables. The inulin in our Fiber products is extracted from chicory root. Inulin is not digested by the digestive system and is a soluble fiber.

What’s the Difference Between Soluble Fiber and Insoluble Fiber?

Fiber can be broken into two broad categories: insoluble and soluble fiber, and most foods contain both. Insoluble fiber – think celery, seeds, those stringy things that always get in the way of maximum banana enjoyment –  keeps the digestive tract running smoothly and regularly. Soluble fiber – think beans, peas, oats – acts as a prebiotic to feed to beneficial bacteria in your gut and binds to cholesterol and sugar, slowing their absorption into the blood stream and promotes healthy blood sugar levels and appetite.*
