How much do I need?
Current recommended daily intake (RDI) for Vitamin A is 60 mg for adults, and 40 mg for children ages 3 and younger.
Why we include it
Our body has an unending need for vitamin C, but humans cannot make our own vitamin C. We must get it through our diet. Unfortunately, vitamin C can be hard to get through the diet alone. Vitamin C concentration in food depends on the soil conditions and climate, the length of time since harvesting, storage conditions, and the method of preparation. Cooking can reduce the vitamin C content of fruits and vegetables by around 60%.
We include 100% of the RDI for vitamin C in all our SmartyPants products since it is such a critical nutrient and it is water-soluble. Any excess you don’t need, your body will eliminate.
