For example, we use LoHan or Monk fruit, sourced from China, to sweeten our Kids Fiber and Adult Fiberformulas.

In traditional Chinese medicine, this plant is used to soothe a sore throat and coughing. In southern China, it’s thought to be a longevity aid. We include LoHan fruit for its delightful flavor.

Despite its well-known reputation, this ingredient, like all others, is tested for identity, purity (meaning no contaminants or residuals) and potency at every stage of the manufacturing process. All SmartyPants ingredients undergo a rigorous screening process to ensure that they’re pure, potent and safe.

They are also GRAS (generally regarded as safe) affirmed using GMP processes set forth by the FDA.

We use a small amount of gelatin sourced from beef (bovine) to micro-encapsulate the omega-3 EPA & DHA essential fatty acids (from fish oil) included in our SmartyPants core line of gummy multivitamin supplements.

However, unlike many of our competitors, our gummies are not gelatin based. Instead, our gummies are made with pectin from citrus fruit and apple to minimize the amount of gelatin in our formulas.

We know many people don’t consume pork products for religious or dietary reasons. So, we give you options.Our Organic SmartyPants Toddler, Kids, Prenatal, Women’s, and Men’s Formulas are gelatin-free and certified-vegetarian.

When it comes to our ingredients, we include nutrients in premium forms that your body prefers and can easily use. Our vitamin B12 is a prime example.

Vitamin B12 comes in two commercially available forms: cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin. Cyanocobalamin, which is B12 attached to a cyanide molecule, is the most common form used in dietary supplements.

However, we choose to use the premium form, methylcobalamin, which is attached to the a methyl group. Methylcobalam is also the body’s  prefered form of B12  to support energy production and immune function.*
